REFLECTIONS & OBSERVATIONS..
I know I over did it on Thanksgiving day…and just a tad on Black Friday. I went shopping with my sister, and mom. I had a really great time both days and had lots of energy yesterday shopping. During the summer we all got together to shop and I just couldn’t keep up! My feet would hurt me something awful, and I would just beg to sit for awhile and rest! I was no fun! I even bailed out on a family trip to Silver Dollar City over the summer. This is a family theme park that involves LOTS of walking up and down many hills. I bailed because I knew I wouldnt be able to keep up. I knew my feet would hurt from all of that walking. That, among other things was the turning point for me. I knew I couldn’t let life pass me by like this. Now granted I have only lost 13 pounds so far, but this has made such a difference in the way I feel. I was ”out-walking” my family yesterday! I was walking faster than everyone too. My sister even made the comment…”I like the new Renee”!!!!!! She was amazed at the stamina I had. I was amazed too! It was a great day and my feet didn’t hurt even once!!!! YAY!
We went to a pizza place to eat yesterday. I did well and made sure to load up on the salad bar. I did eat 3 pieces of pizza-this place was a buffett of pizza and desert. I didn’t have any of the desert and was proud of that! While we were sitting there visiting, I watched the many people going back and back again for more pizza. I am not judging, because this would have been me in the past. It just made me kind of sad. The amount of calories some of these people were eating was staggering. It’s funny how I would even notice something like this now. This food was loaded with calories, fat, and high sodium counts. Not a healthy place to eat really-just dollar friendly! Again, I am not judging these people, it just made me think about myself and my journey-and my own health.
Back on track today. Hoping to see a nice loss on Friday! Gonna buckle down and make it happen! Thanks for all the support buddies! Hope you are all having a great weekend. Take care!!! ![]()
I don’t blame you for noticing. You are just being more aware of what you are putting into your own body, there is nothing wrong with that. Good job on having no dessert!!!
loved your blog! I hear you on “noticing” what others are taking in now that you are more aware of what YOU take in. I know exactly what you mean about not being judgmental but more like, surprized and saddened at the way we,as a society eat. I ran into a family member at the grocery store last night and this person was buying a 2 liter bottle of soda and a bag of cheesy popcorn for dinner! I’ve been there, so I am not judging….just sad! Anyway, Renee…you are doing so well. I loved hearing about you “outwalking” your family. I had a big stupid smile on my face while reading it!!!
It ate my comment!
Ohhhhh, I hear you on the chocolate pudding!!!! hehehe!
Hi sweetie! How are you? It’s awesome you guys braved it and went out there on Black Friday! Great job on getting your walk in mama!
Like Holly, I don’t blame you for noticing. I do the exact same thing. I used to go to the buffet at the casinos and gorge.
You are making great progress hon!

Wow, great observations. I never liked walking alot before either. I go to college, and simply walking from the parking lot, to the main buildings was enough to put me out of breath! This past summer I was at an amusement park with my bf (ex right now) and I could not keep up with walking with him, I wanted to take constant breaks. He got mad and thats why he thought I needed to lose weight.
But now I walk from my car to my classes and never get out of breath doing that! So I have noticed that change.
ahhh, the buffet! I think you handled it well. Usually I allow myself a plateful of what I want, but try not to go for seconds. Or if I have desert, I eat fruit rather than ice cream. My mom on the other hand can eat 3 or 4 plates! So I know how you feel thinking of how many calories are being eaten.
hey way to go on the walking and the pizza place! isn’t it great to feel the body change already!! That’s just so fantastic!
Im fastened in again too and ready to go! Good job on the walking and staying away from the desserts
Silver Dollar City can be a rough walk no matter what size you are, some of those hills are killers! I’m glad you’re noticing a difference in your stamina, sometimes things like that are much better motivators than any numbers on a scale. Have a great night!
Thanks everybody for your support!! Love ya all!
I think this was a good time to see how far we have come. Good job! You deserve the praise!!
Renee, that is fabulous that you have made those changes and even on top of it all you were awar of you and others were putting in there bodies ! You are doing wonderful ! hugs, Kimmi
